IOC NEWS#2 – Heading for the semi-finals!
On Friday 30 August, our eminent jury* sat down to study the 160 applications received and their versions of the pre-selection work for IOC#2: Opus 26 n°5 by Theodor Kirchner. It was a particularly arduous and delicate task, but one which they accomplished successfully: after a long working session, 20 composers were selected to take part in the semi-finals in December.
To ensure anonymity, the composers were informed individually of their selection. The next step for them, before the final concerts in May, is to orchestrate a work of their choice from a selection put forward by the Coups de Vents team.
- Ballade N°5 Opus 36 by Agathe Grondhal
- Prélude 21 (extract from 24 Préludes Opus 37) by Ferruccio Busoni
- Le ballet des revenants op 5 N° 4 by Clara Wieck-Schumann
- Prélude (from Prélude, Choral et Fugue) Op 37 by Émile Goué
- Vers la vie nouvelle, by Nadia Boulanger
- Prelude No 12 (solo) from 12 Preludes Opus 36 by Louis Vierne
